Yes, it’s November.
WILD.
Anyways, let me get straight to what I wanted to talk to you about this morning:
HATERS
Yep, I said it. Haters.
I’m actually going to take a moment and give them the time of day, because y’all, there are some hardcore truths surrounding this subject and I want you to point blank know them and hear them.
So, here goes:
1. You will never be criticized, belittled, mocked, negatively viewed or hated on by anyone doing more than you. Ever.
It’s not how it works. You think Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are busy cutting down someone working hard toward their entertainer career? Absolutely not. Are there random folks on the internet (including family, acquaintances and peers) who wouldn’t know courage if it slapped them in the face and partake in this kind of past time? For sure.
2. Along the same lines as number one, some humans tend to despise other humans who take fast action, make things happen, get things done, challenge mediocrity and who ultimately represent and encourage excellence.
And there’s absolutely nothing any of us can do about it. Now, don’t ask me why, ’cause I don’t *exactly* know. But I do think it probably has to do with others feeling threatened (on a subconscious level) by those who are doing the kinda stuff they too desire to do, but choose to hold themselves back from in vicious cycles of shitty beliefs and self sabotage. It’s a shame, but it is indeed how the cookie crumbles cause y’all us humans are freaking flawed, weird and super tricky. Woof!
3. In the end though, take a moment to celebrate the haters. Thank the haters. Give grace, praise, patience and understanding for the haters. (No, seriously!) Because you know what? Having haters confirms you and your work’s relevancy.
It’s a pulse check in the grand scheme of things for what kind of impact you’re making, how you’re showing up and being seen (and heard!) in a noisy AF world and who’s *actually* listening and paying attention. It’s confirmation that what you’re doing matters and to keep going. Dare I say, without the haters, we aren’t quite doing it right. 😉
As we enter the season of seeing family around the dinner table (hello, Thanksgiving – my favorite – and then of course, Christmas, too!) remember…anytime someone has something to say about you and what you’re doing (or not doing) simply remind yourself of the above three truths. Then you can have a chuckle inside your inner monologue while you smile kindly and say “Pass the rolls, please.”
