Good morning and a very Happy Wealthy Woman’s Day to you! Or Happy Wealthy Man’s Day, you know everyone is welcome around these parts. 🙂
Yep, it’s April 15th (Tax Day) but as a creative solopreneur who is busy making moves and building empires, I choose to celebrate the latter. I hope you’ll join me!
Anyways, today I wanted to chat with you a little bit about one of my favorite four letter words: risk.
If you’re like most folks, you probably just shuddered a bit.
Or maybe you felt a weird lump in your throat or your brain immediately made up a story of “Nope, not for me.”
But here’s the thing y’all, risk isn’t just a sexy/flashy word adrenaline junkies or private equity analysts throw around, it’s actually a requirement of a successful life and yes, a successful business.
Risk is necessary.
It’s also incredibly fulfilling and live giving, when implemented appropriately.
And not taking it doesn’t make you special (or smart). In fact, I’d argue it makes you dumb.
And risk, much like success, is NOT one size fits all.
It shows up and looks different for each of us.
If you’re curious as to what risk is looking like for me these, here’s a little insight for ya:
- Choosing to pivot my brand/message and I’m what I’m “known for” into new waters and unchartered territory
- Hiring an ads team for a first ever live launch and dumping 20k into the process
- Going “all the way” with my mentor and signing up to work with her privately for the next year, when up to this point I only dabbled here or there in her group programs, membership and various classes/trainings
- Authoring a book and actively pitching it to literary agents
- Saying no to things that once brought me joy
- Saying yes to things that scare the bejesus out of me
- Showing up unapologetically, both in person and online
Whatever risk may look like for you in this season, I sincerely hope you’ll embrace it and take the leap. You’re worth it and you deserve what’s on the other side.
